Provincial eliminations for Inkosi Albert Luthuli Oral History Project

The Primary Curriculum Management Directorate (PCMD), together with the Senior Curriculum Management Directorate (SCMD), conducted the annual Provincial eliminations for the Inkosi Albert Luthuli Oral History Project — a celebration of South African history, narrative, and learner voice.

Learners from across the Eastern Cape's eight districts competed for a place at the national finals, presenting research, oral histories, and dramatic readings inspired by the life and legacy of Chief Albert Luthuli.

Nine employees represent Education in Comrades marathon

Nine employees from the Department tested their physical and mental strength yet again when they participated in this year's Comrades marathon in Durban recently.

The team formed part of the Department's broader Employee Wellness Programme, which encourages physical activity, peer support, and resilience-building among public servants. Their finish times will be celebrated at the annual wellness awards ceremony later this year.

As winter tightens its grip, office employees are strengthening theirs

Winter can be a challenging season for everyone and it is often hard to stay away from fatty and unhealthy diet during cold days. The Acting Director for Employee Relations launched a series of in-office wellness sessions to support staff with nutrition, movement, and mental health during the winter months.

Sessions include short stretch breaks, guided breathing, and a "soup-and-salad swap" lunch initiative across the Steve Vukile Tshwete complex.
